hi,we have just had our agm and got some moaners(never)we currently give each angler 1 hour to tackle up from arriving on bank, agree that some have more to walk but as said in meeting this is minutes, wondered what alloted time other clubs gave, this also includes plumbing, etc.as said to anglers this is enough some are ready in half hour, some in 20 mins but do you agree 1 hour is enough?

1 hour is most common for club matches. We have the advantage, however, with one of my clubs that we are fishing one of two of our own pools.

I agree as well that an hour is plenty, afterall you can continue setting up rigs/rods through the whole match if you're not happy with your first choices.

That's ok if it's a prompt draw.

yes it is a prompt draw, prob is some anglers want to talk, some want breakfast, which is not everybodys cup of tea,so how can you fit all to be happy,i say impossible, set up or shut up,is this harsh?????i run the mini bus and when picking all up and dropping off ,a 6 hour match turns into an 11 hour day,am i wrong??????????

You sound like a good egg to me, bet your efforts all get taken for granted by some ?(of course I don't know that for definite, it's just a comment).
You ought to alternate the driving bet that would focus people a bit more.
I hate hanging about when I've turned up to fish. If I'm told 8.30 draw I'll be there before 8.30, might be a minute before of 20 minutes before but I'll be there in time, even if I've stopped off somewhere with a few others for a cooked breakfast.
But if I was late I would be quite happy with whatever peg was left or had been drawn on my behalf. Likewise I'd have no complaints if my lateness ate in to my setting up time - that's just the way I am.
I don't get involved in booking or arranging matches, I just like to turn up. So I do think I at least owe it to whoever has arranged the match to get there on time.

Spot on Ian, problem is there are so many people out there who just want to have a moan.
If you have arranged the draw time for 9.00, they should not be having breakfast at that time. Get them in the queue at 9.00 or they get the peg that is left under the windscreen wiper and the match will start at 10.00.
