Thanks Nige

A good bit of info. The pool will be stream fed, and it will have a good depth at the pole line. I'll have to come and meet up with you soon and have at look at Barston, as I have yet to see it. From your website it looks very nice.
Be in touch very soon so I can take this project to the next level.

if i had my own way i would only stock it with roach and rudd. and put plenty of skimmers in. then you could fish number four and five elastics safely for the roach and then if you hook a bream you can land it. then matches are much fairer. and its whos the better angler and not who got the lucky carp. and your water will be much cleaner as there want be 12 tins of cat meat four pints of pellets, and 3 kilos of corn going in every day. just maggot and groundbait. put a post up whn the fishery is finished mate i only live in tamworth and would bring a few lads to fish it .

The only problem I see with a mostly silver fish stock is the water won't retain the colour during the colder days making the fishing rock hard. At least with the introduction of carp they scavenge most of the time keeping the colour and the clarity how you want it.

A good mix of everything IMO is the way although you know in the end carp will take over unless controlled

Thanks for all for telling me what stocks you would like.

But what about having it as a day ticket with club/open matches once a week or leasing it to a club and having it as a private pool?

Could I have some feedback from this. How much do clubs pay nowadays for leasing a pool?

Hi Dave,
Have a look at my posts in the venue advice section( club Directory ) for a few ideas on your water they are under Carlsberg Tetley AC.
I think we have got a good balance in our pool with a great mixture of silvers, tench, chub and some carp.
We have got approx 100 carp with only 25 or so being proper ones over 5lbs all the rest are only 8oz to a lb.
The bulk of our fish are Tench with over 60 above 2lbs and loads of small 8oz to 12 oz as well.
The pool is only 2 years old and is getting better all the time and you don't know what is on the end when the float goes under.
I think if you are going to let it to a club you will be near the mark if you go down the same road.
If you want any further info let me know.
