chilli
hey im thinking about cuttin a chilli up into cubes and cupping it in, i feel the smell might be an extremly good fish attracting quality but has any1 used with before? if so is it effective?
i like my clouds in the margins and use a chilli soup corn soup and maggot soup but i use them for the cloud in shallow water wich is amazing but as you cant use a cloud in deep water i will have to go to the smell to attract and chilli is a strong smell.
recently fishing for silvers and using garlic on my maggots has made me see how good the strong smell is and how much of an effect it has on the bites i get but would the chilli do the same for carp,,,,what you guys think?

Hi Ryan, wouldn't it be easier to use chilli powder? You could mix it with molehill soil that way there would be no actual food other than your hookbait.
Alternatively you could try a feeder filled with foam and soaked in chilli oil, although I think this would be better in summer.

I like to see unusual baits being used - how about liquidising the chilli in some water and adding to groundbait - if you add some sensas TRASICS to your mix it is easy to create a cloud on the bottom when the GB breaks up.

yeh well iv liquidised the chilli and will probly us it for groundbair or forming balls of crumb.
the problem is iv got a really effective groundbait for beam and roach and was hoping on using this for carp, the opens i fish are no gb or anything so im a bit stuck there.
iv been thinking about it and i may try and just flavoure my hookbait like pellets and corn with it.
i flavoure my maggots with garlic but im experimenting with flavours atm before i begin fishing again.
the other day i fished maggots over pellets and couldnt get a bite but then when i added garlic to my maggots i got a bite about 4 seconds after the float settled, it transformed my fishing.
thing im scared of doing though is over complicating my fishing.
i have my garlic for flavouring my silver fish baits when fishing for silvers but now its just a flavoure for my carp hookbait, you gotta have the edge over other anglers lol

I love flavouring maggots - chilli, turmeric, garlic, coriander, custard powder and angel delight they all work.
The old adage is sweet in summer and spicy in winter.

you can buy chilli mini boilies to fish over the top of your ground bait which work well for all species

The chilli I think will work wonders with chub and roach but I wouldnt go too mad with it, I would take the less is more approach as it can be a little over powering on humans.
For years Tumeric has worked well with maggots I see chilli as being along the same lines

Have done well with particles especially hemp and Tares cooked with chilli in the water, either a couple of fresh ones or powder, also try liqiudizing a can of corn with a t-spoon of chilli powder.
Also look for chilli flavoured cooking oils, great drizzled over micro feed pellets and a few drops on your hookers.
Make sure you dont rub your eyes and be careful if you take a leak dont touch you meat and 2 veg!
