Default Hooks

Looking for a strong spade end hook to use on the pole 0.18 to 0.22 line, purple and red hydro, using meat corn and big pellets, catching carp from 4 to 5lb up to high teens.

Have been using the gamakatsu Carp hooks which have been fine but they are very shiny silver. After a darker hook any suggestions.

The "fox match series 2" are relatively new. Quite a large hook for the size and a wide gape. Very strong, black. I use them for Carp in Summer not had any problems. I am sure other people will give you there favourite hooks as each to their own.

Default Hooks

I have used Kamasan 911 for a few seasons now with no problems. Have landed fish in to high doubles with no problems.
If you want a stronger hook then the Kamasan animal hook is one of the strongest or the fox series 2 extra stong
The only other hook i have used is the tubertini 175s but only use it for paste fishing but i'm sure you could use it for other things.

I use the Tubertini 175's for that sort of work, another good alternative is the Maver Eagle as they just never ever straighten!
