Default Shimano exage

I popped down Fosters earlier to have a look at the poles on offer as i'm looking for a new one and tried many poles up to the £800 mark I quite fancied a Speedmaster which is retailing at £750 but after trying loads of different poles(I wasn't impressed with the mavers) the one I was most impressed with was the Shimano exage even though it was only 14.5 meters I found this pole really good for the price and with the money I save I can get a few extra top kits. What i'd like to know is has anyone got this pole and how does it handle when out fishing?????? Like I said 1st impressions were that it was superb

The Exage for the money is an awesome bit of kit. Bags of strength and excellent performance too. Finish is also great meaning trouble free shipping whether the pole is wet or dry. To cut a long story short you'll have to spend a fair bit more money to better the Exage.

All i can say is when i worked at Fosters we couldnt get them fast enough, never had any come back, and everyone loved them, no better pole on the market for that money.

I got the Exage AX last year
I'll be getting another soon, not that it is worn out or anything , but just in case they are going to discontinue it
An excellent pole, light and comfortable to use
Only thing that they don'tlike are dogs, one went through it and number 5 and 7 broke
The price of replacements were £46 each, virtually the same as a top set
I'd recommend them to anyone, especailly for the price and the package they come with, as Steve says you'd have to spend far more to get a btter pole

I've got the original model which I thought was a good allrounder when I bought it........great with the match kits and handled the few double figure besties I've had on 12/14 lackies on the powers.
A few of the guys I fish with have the AX which they are chuffed with - go for it
