Thumbs up Crucian Carp

I have Never cort a crucain and was wondering if any one knew any good lakes around Middlesbrough or in the north east were i could possibly catch one..... also what is the best bait to use when fishing for them. ?

had plently on maggot before but i should say micro pellet would be best for them, or 3mm pellet, best of luck
do notice though, they can be very very shy biters and incredibally hard to notice the bites,

I like to float fish for Crucians using sweetcorn and breadflake. Trick is to dot your float right down so it looks as though only the surface film of the water is stopping it from sinking. (Use a bit of vaseline to help hold it in the surface film if required)

Careful plumbing of your swim is required as well for me. I have the bait just touching bottom.

As ryan says, they can be REALLY shy and finicky.
