Hi CT,

We pay £20.00 membership fee and then £15.00 per match of which £7.00 is pegging and £8.00 goes to pools that also includes £10.00 golden draw every match, they pay out on 1st 2nd 3rd and two section winners no big fish payout, but this year we are doing a league table so some of the funding will go into this. All revenue generated goes into booking next years matches, you have to book a year in advance to get in.

Correction to be made to the above fixtures:

SAT 20th SEPT KIVETON (Top Lake)

Hi CT,

Yep I'm afraid thats how it works, we usually book around twenty pegs, some fisheries will lets us have the whole lake which is better than having pleasure anglers sitting at the side of you in a match, not that i condone pleasure angling. Yes we still have to pay for the pegs if a lesser number turn up, it can have it's advantages if you get the whole lake with pegging out spare pegs between anglers.

just wondered when you book persume you have to pay up front or at least a deposit. i know what you mean we have 27 members but generally get about 20/22 at matches so i only book 25 pegs but we have to pay for all 25 upfront before the match so it is a waste of money if 5 dont turn up . we do allow riders so members are asked to inform me if they wont be present so i can recoup peg fees off riders if possible. it is a constant balancing act!!!!

Yes mate it is a tough one to balance. Some venues like the payment up front but most that we have been fishing for a few years take a deposit and pay balance on the day. It can be helpful if members let you know the week prior that they cannot make it, some even offer the pegging money if they let you down which is a nice gesture. Having riders as well does help recoup as you say.
