Default braid

just wondered what type of braid is popular out there. also what breaking strain and diameters and for what uses. I have some 22lb breaking strain which is the same diameter as 6lb line but thought a slightly thinner one might be of more use for bream and skimmer fishing, cheers all.

The 10lb stuff is fine + alot thinner than your 22lb one.

I use Drennan supper specialist sink braid 8Lb stuff had no problems with it, seems to sink better after a couple of uses. Had the 6Lb stuff before that but my line clip cut it up a bit, still not figured out how it happened, as I never had that problem when using nylon with the same reel.
I use it on the river only as my club does not allow it on its waters for fear of lifting the scales of the fish.
Have to say I think it is great on the river.

I've a couple of spools with 6lb and 10lb - Berkley Fireline

Berkley - Braid - Poingdestre's

Used it for medium/long range bream/skimmer fishing on bomb and feeder.

As BillyNoMates says, needs using a few times to help it sink quicker

But no need to strike, just lift into the bites

Think my braid is Genasis 8lb but its been on my spool for so long I can't remember but it's very good stuff only 0.6 diameter I only use it for skimmers though.
