Default pond/lake in nottingham

Can anyone recommend and ponds or lakes in nottingham that are currently open for fishing.

Also if someone from nottingham fancies meeting up with me that would be cool, as im still getting back into fishing i could do with picking up a few pointers still

you should go and have a bash at hallcroft lovely venue and if you give them a call or pop in a local shop to the venue they can give you info on how to fish it and they have a good web site

Are you talking Nottingham itself or Nottinghamshire in general ?
Don't know any in Nottm but in Notts you have loads.
Like polehard says you have Hallcroft about an 3/4 of an hour away, 10 minutes further up the road there is Ranskill Lakeside, another 5 mins & you have Lodge Farm (you're into sth yorks by then tho).
There is also Sherwood Fishery near Warsop, one at Gunthorpe but can't remember what it's called, think it's Peacock or Moon Lake ?. Couple on the A46 towards Newark. Muskham pits on the A1 near Newark. Cromwell Lake, again on the A1 near Newark (think that's more for speciman hunters but cracking surroundings).
I'll bet when you start looking you'll have at least 50 lakes/ponds (if not more) to choose from within 20-30 minutes travel from Nottm.

The venue at gunthorpe is peacock lakes, its a very good little venue with a good head of large carp and a good head of silvers (60lb to 80lb in matches). Moon lakes is at Tattershall in lincs.

Little john lakes at ollerton is a great venue plenty of bites to be had.

Adiefallguy,

Hi mate if you are coming out of Notts over Gunthorpe bridge or on the A46 towards Newark, you need to turn of at a place called Flintham on your right, just keep on this road (some bad bends) until you go over a bridge and you have a farm on your right shortly after this you will reach the entrance to Portland Waters on your left cracking venue 4 lakes to choose from all very good, for venue advise ring Mick the owner on 07967 144 818
