Default Shotting tube

I don't have a proper shotting tube but do use an old bubble lamp (about 4 foot deep & 5 inch wide). I did read somewhere about the difference in 'surface tension' between a tube & open water.
Question is, I'm I more likely to under shot or over shot in a tube ?

Thanks

Just add a few drops of washing up liquid or detergent to your shot tube, softer water has less tension

You will most definately over shot, as the surface tension will keep the float above water

Now I know, I can allow for it.
Had me scratching my head on the bank today though, as I decided that if anything I would probably undershot in a tube. Thought my float was damaged & taking on water when it kept slowing going under. Put another rig on & the same thing happened, took a shot off & all was ok in the water but my head was still saying 'that can't be right ....... maybe I think too much.
