Default fizzing

fished 3 matches on meadow view now fed a medium sized pot of micro,s and the peg was fizzing went full depth but was just getting lined out stopped feeding and the fizzing slowly stops and no obvious bites so tried constantly feeding fizzing soon starts ive tried starting on the deck and working up to 4 inches deep and tried every combination of shotting possible every match is the same result just catching odd fish small stockies to lumps so where am i going wrong as its getting frustrating

It sounds similar to a water I used to fish. Fish to one on the edge of the fizzing. My culprits were skimmers rooting around on the micros and searching through the bottom. Try also fishing half depth if there are a lot of skimmers as sometimes the carp sit above them waiting for the next pot.

You could also feed 4mm pellets and see if this changes anything.

Thumbs up

spoke to a very good angler at border fisheries the other day, his theory was the fish were gill feeding just off the bottom and he suggested i upped the pellet size to 4mm. got to say it worked

when fish fizz it is usually because you have too much bait. It happens with worm too! You need to stop potting and loose feed your peg with far fewer pellets. Fish suck up a m outhful of bait form the bottomthen sit a few inches to a few feet off to chew and sift through the debri that comes up with the bait. You can present a bait at any depth but you will seldom get bites as they are chewing what they have in their mouth. Feed less and try a shallow rig as it is possible to starve them up feeding two and three pellets. Never ever feed micros as fish become preoccupied with them. Feed what you are uising on the hook so its no good pinging 4mms and fishing a 6mm. I feed 6mm for everything as 8mm are far too big to keep the fish shallow in your peg. Don't need to hair rig them either.. just put the hook through the pellet band and not underneath it!
