personally i dont think the loop makes a blind bit of difference its all about the placement of shot ok if you have used the loop and have caught on it your going to have alot of confidence in using it and as it isnt affecting your fishing then there isnt a problem using it
i also think this is more of a winter set up when the fish are not moving about as much as they are now and not really wanting to feed, so by usin this set up with the shots so close, if a fish does happen to open its mouth near the bait it will resigster as soon as the fish picks up your bait
pellet fishing for me wether it be summer or winter, is about keeping your bait moving lifting and dropping regular to induce bite, and having 2 no 8 shots right next to your hook doesnt help your presentation much! a simple straight through rig with shots around 10inch from hook without droppers is the way to go, now if im catching well and on alot of SMALL fish i will move the shots closer but still the closest i will go would be 5 inch, so you still get that slower fall infront of there noses, the reason i have hightlighted small is because i find the better 1lb plus f1s have really wised up and you cant be as crude as you can be for the small 5-8oz fish,
if your struggling for a pellet float you cant go wrong with a preston chianti for places like tunnel barn where the fish really have wised up to anglers and spook soo easily, places like manor and larford you can use floats that are a bit more positive like carpa chimps,
