4x12, 4x10 depth dependant, shotted so pellet acts as a dropper. Float with a fine tip. 012 line Fox 10 hollow elastic. 16 fox series 7 hook. Fished dead depth.
Well thats mine anyway

this work's brill for f1 as well as for carp its the thing that they all go no about the hook in the loop it brill for f1 that what it is for and this is how you set it up. i use garbolino dc3 it has a very good visible bristle and it is very stable float as well its a brill for pellet fishing. i use two types they are 0.20g or 0.40g well that the float side out the way..know after you have put your float on the line you put your hook on know that's where you make your loop push the line through the hook.. i use b911 16's eyed hooks but i am using the new fox one's at the mo just seeing what they are like that 16's.. make a loop so that the hook is in the loop so that it swings in it, the loop is only got to be 1cm long not 3 or 4 Cm's know the two no8 sit just above the loop one 5mm away from the loop and the other the same size as the loop that's 1cm away from the first shot.. i will use no8 Preston stotz's as a bulk shot and two no8 just above the loop that may only be three stotzs for the 0.20g i just hope that may help you (oh the line i use is garbolino 0.14and 0.16 also i use power line as well ) anyway all the best hope you have a good day bagging up on what ever you use................. oh one more thing if you start get them funny bites just move the second up the line a bit till you start hitting them.....

do you fish this hook in loop method at dead depth or just off the bottom ?

Never really fished with pellets as they never seem to stay on the hook for me but the more good reports I hear I think its time to try and move over to them even if i have to glue the things on ha ha

Smudger use the jello or S pellets or the Carp vader ones they dont come off as easy as the ones you do yourself. there are plenty of others I just usewd them as an example

Thanks mate.

I have bought a few different types before but they all just seem useless and fall off I did try the jellets ones and must admit they held the hook well but I just didnt seem to catch with them.

Maybe its the way im fishing with them I dont know

personally i dont think the loop makes a blind bit of difference its all about the placement of shot ok if you have used the loop and have caught on it your going to have alot of confidence in using it and as it isnt affecting your fishing then there isnt a problem using it

i also think this is more of a winter set up when the fish are not moving about as much as they are now and not really wanting to feed, so by usin this set up with the shots so close, if a fish does happen to open its mouth near the bait it will resigster as soon as the fish picks up your bait

pellet fishing for me wether it be summer or winter, is about keeping your bait moving lifting and dropping regular to induce bite, and having 2 no 8 shots right next to your hook doesnt help your presentation much! a simple straight through rig with shots around 10inch from hook without droppers is the way to go, now if im catching well and on alot of SMALL fish i will move the shots closer but still the closest i will go would be 5 inch, so you still get that slower fall infront of there noses, the reason i have hightlighted small is because i find the better 1lb plus f1s have really wised up and you cant be as crude as you can be for the small 5-8oz fish,

if your struggling for a pellet float you cant go wrong with a preston chianti for places like tunnel barn where the fish really have wised up to anglers and spook soo easily, places like manor and larford you can use floats that are a bit more positive like carpa chimps,

i have used the hook in the loop and still do.
it has done me no harm i have won matches with the hook in the loop, matt, as giles would say if you dont like it then dont use it.
i think it works as i have won with it and caught with it, down to what you like to use at the end of the day.
dont think it should be knocked thou.
smudger it should be fished dead depth mate.
