Default oneabung at woodlands view

after drawing peg 2 on ghost in the fisho qualifier i made my way to my peg and noticed the wind was blowing in the right direction ,i looked enviously at peg 1 ,it was screaming fish. while setting up i noticed a talkangling shirt on the chap next to me, so i asked who are you then and was intrduced to oneabung we had a bit of banter before and during the match but i didnt want to put him off his fishing .well the wind got up to near gale force or at least thats what it felt like. poor oneabung had to fish the feeder as he struggled in the wind with the pole, on the odd occasion he could get the pole out a fish was on.anyway i felt that if he was able to fish the pole all match he would of definately been in with a shout so i must say i felt sorry for such a nice chap who i hope i will meet again sometime

Spoke to Simon about his draw as I fancied it would produce with the wind blowing into that end of the pool, unfortunately the wind turned into a bit of a gale and made it awful to fish. We had the wind up on Arles but fortunately coming off our backs most of the time so it was not as hard to fish.

Nice to meet you Roger, and simon afterwards!

We were on the opposite bank then, I drew peg 9, then MarkC drew as a reserve and landed on peg 8 right next to me .

Sounds as if TA was quite well represented over all then, that's at least 7 TA posters I've heard to date and probably many more .

Moorlands is next and the last fisho for me now, i'm on the reserve list but going to turn up on the off chance anyway.

I'll be @ Moorlands too, hoping to draw on the better lakes this time, problem is though if I was given my choice of lake and peg I wouldn't know which ones to pick anyway

Very rarely will I make excuses but that wind made my peg unfishable...

Trouble was at the start the wind was strong but it was easy enough to present the bait along the bank into the corner... what I hadnt banked on was hurricane henry getting up out of bed at lunch time - having left my inside line and religiously topped it for 2 hours then a few drops and found it was solid, then not being able to fish it did my head in.

I know hindsight is a very easy thing to say "I should have done"... well I should have set my stall out and said I was going to fish the feeder all match, but when you plan one thing and end up having to change mid match it is never going to really work - especially when the wind dropped for 5 minutes, you go in get one, then another then the wind blows you round off your box- kept thinking it will drop, it will drop - but it never did.

Still we live and learn!

Only thing is now knowing the weight it was won with and ending with 55lb I think I would have definately gone very close if only I had binned the pole completely - thats what really hurts!

The big bonus of the day was meeting all the members of the forum who got tickets and hearing the positive comments about the site. Thanks everyone.
