Take a look at the exclusions you are not covered if you lock your tackle up in a garage, shed or out building, now remind me where do most of us keep our wet, muddy, smelly tackle in my case it aint the house, so unless you get it knicked from your car providing you put it all out of sight it dont have that many benifits. Damaged in use might be ok if you have a top of the range pole where a section is going to cost many hundreds of pounds

who can put a legitimate figure on how much youir tackle is worth?

Mine and my dads gear, lives in our shed all the time - locked up, it would probably cost 400-500 quid to replace all the rods, reels and the tackle box with the odds and sods in. IMO

I reckon what your poles and rods come to will probably equate to the cost of replacing your small items and what about the time lost in making up all them rigs

I would take a guess at most modern day match anglers are dragging about best part of 7k worth of kit and another 2 or so in the garage/shed
