Default Liqidising bread

Why does every article i read about this say "cut off the crusts"
Seriously what difference does it make to the finished article if i leave the crusts on? Other than a little bit of different colour in it i cant see what difference it makes.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Generally when people talk about liccy they are on about catching roach and as bread is a very filling bait , cutting the crusts off helps to not overfeed them as it doesn't liqidise as well . When i think I'm on for a few , saw 12 lbs plus i actually leave them on as to add more feed but when its hard and 3lbs will win cutting them off can pay .Hope this helps

Thanks Richie, but wouldnt you just throw less in? My intention is to liquidise plenty and freeze it in bags so i've always got some handy.

The crust will also sink at a diffrent rate or even float. This could drift of taking the fish with them. Fine if mixing or bulking out a groundbait.

quick tip for you.
Liquidize your bread (with crusts cut off), bag it up, freeze it. Then on day of use take it outta freezer and liquidize it again.
It'll be twice as fine and every ball will sink.

That's spot on, we used to do that on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal. If you are fishing a venue with skimmers in, get hold of some powdered Brasem and add 1 teaspoon to a loaf, another top tip.

If you leave the crusts on, the likky will be more bouyant than it needs to be. Much harder to squeeze into a ball and less likely to sink. Bear in mind that likky doesn't all sink right to the bottom most times, lots of it hovers 6" to 1' off bottom. If you leave some crust in, it may not get down that far and you will spread fish through the water column!
