Hooks help...
I have used Drennan Barbless Carp Feeder hooks for my carping for a number of years, but I think a wider gaped hook would be better. Also, something perhaps a little stronger (yes, really!).
The two I've looked at are the Fox Series 2 Extra Strong and the Korum S3.
Having used Fox Series 2 Match Carp, I know that the size 20 is more like a regular size 14, is it the same in the extra strong? So should I choose size 16 if I want a hook closer to a regular size 12? Is the Series 2 Extra Strong thick enough in the wire to be a contender when judged against the Drennan?
Having used Preston hooks, which I find go blunt very quickly, will the Korum stand up to tons of carp? How do they measure up for size and wire thickness against the Drennans?
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Steve

Ta Bazh, the only Gama hook that fits the bill is the Specialist, with size 12 being the smallest. Ordered some Fox 2XS's to see how I go with them.

Zak, I'm only changing because I think they are not quite the right shape. I have had some pull out of fish on the pellet waggler when using a 16, which makes me think I'm using too small a hook as well as the wrong shape.
I've never had one open out on me.

Steve, believe it or not I personally believe you pull out of less fish on a smaller hook on the wag.

i have thought the same about the carp feeder everyone i know rates them but im ALWAYS pulling out of fish on them no matter what rod im using or the method im fishing, i too dont have any confidence in the shape, so would be interested to hear your findings, i use the pr36's for alot of my hair rigging now but there not really for bagging days!
