Default help off a polish angler

my brother was fishin the ridgeacre canal last wednesday afternoon(11th june)he said he was fishin no6 elastic 0.11 line and catchin some nice roach and skimmers and he hit into this big carp it was giving him the runaround and all of a sudden the fish stopped and everythin went solid, then this polish chap came and asked my brother if he had got a big fish on or hooked the bottom, my bro told him it was a fish so this polish chap sterted slappin my brothers pole and the fish moved off again.
the polish chap said me do this in poland.

what are your thoughts on this?

oh and bye the way my bro lost the carp in the end it broke him.

First and foremost I know poaching is wrong, and they should be fined and jailed etc for paoching our carp. I am not advocating it in any shape or form, but we would not have carp in the first place if it wasnt brought to these shores to be used as a farm fish for eating, and the centries of selective breeding, by the monks, to create linear mirror carp and leather carp strains as they found de-scaling commons was too much of a hard job.

so when you talk about seeing them being eaten etc, does make me laugh, the irony of it all and all that.

lol

Well will give it a go next time a fish gets into a snag and we will see - but never heard of that before.

Dont seem to get snagged up any more! Commercials dont seem to let the trees hang in the water to create features any more.
