Default Garbolino - A professional outfit

Act 1: Several months ago I purchased a Diawa match rod. Top section broke second time out so I sent it back to Wishaw. My wife posted it at the PO but was in a rush and forgot to get proof of postage.
I heard nothing for two weeks and emailed them. They then denied ever receiving it.

Act 2: Several months ago I bought a Garbolino Squad waggler rod. When I last used it on Tuesday, I noticed that the area around the whipping was discoloured. Now I don't leave my rod in a wet bag so was concerned about this.
So I contacted Garbolino in France today (freephone) and spoke to a polite guy called Paul. He told me that the discolouring won't affect it's performance but immediately offered to replace the rod.

Now that's what I call service. Ok, so the rod isn't worth £200 but I'll certainly be looking for Garbolino stuff in future. As for another manufacturer, they won't be seeing any of my cash !

Has anyone else had trouble with so-called reputable manufactrers ?

Garbolino are delighted to announce that they have launched a UK website dedicated to UK anglers.

The site which is at Garbolino - Garbolino Uk Website has been developed to compliment the UK range of products and UK related fishing styles.
Darren Cox, UK General Manager for Garbolino commented; -

They can browse the site which covers all products or simply download the catalogue. Not only does the site cover products but there is detailed information on how a pole is made, the history of the company and specific points of interest including our top angling consultants who offer some great tips on fishing in the UK as well as magazine articles that they have been involved with. There are also details of those who we have formed partnerships with us and a news section will give up to the minute information on all things related to the brand.
The site will be updated regularly and we aim to provide a comprehensive and informative site where anglers will enjoy visiting on a regular basis”.
Visit the site and see for yourself on Garbolino - Garbolino Uk Website

I had the same thing with Daiwa regarding a reel I sent back to them for a service. First of all I sent 2 off stating in writing that both needed attention to the automatic bail arm springs and one had a worn roller. They were really quick getting them back to me with repaired/new springs but the one reel still had a worn roller. I called them and they said post it off to them, which I did, after a couple of weeks I called but sent around the factory without a reply I left another week and called again but again I got passed around different departments, still no reply. After a month I contacted them again only for someone to actually admit that they did not have the reel, now it was too late for me to claim via the post office. Why had they not said that at the start is beyond me? And why didn't they repair the reel, like I had asked when I sent it to them first time Ii don't know. The Final straw was when I got a Bill from them for the repair for the 2 bail arm springs, on one reel I no longer had. I was livid
Nice to see that Garbolino have a good after sales department

I think the problem with big companies is the sheer throughput of goods The laws of average states that the bigger the company the more problems you will come across.

having said that there is no excuse for loosing peoples goods and more to the point you shouldnt even need proof of postage, although for peace if mind its always better to have valuble items recorded or registered, as one of them methods carries a certain amount of insurance.

Both Garbolino and Diawa for me supply a top rate service I have used both and have only 1 fault with Diawa and that is they are a little slow replying to emails, again its down to sheer volume comming in, and any company that garauntees pole spare for 5 years after a pole is discontinued has my vote.

I think you was unfortunate Gent, it happens I guess, but its good to see you got some great customer service from Garbo.

I am looking for a good all round rod, which will be predominently used for float fishing. I have read that I will probably need a rod which has a 'through' action, from my understand that is where the bend in the rod is throught out the rod not just the top section or tip.

So far it looks good, as it can turn from a float rod to a feeder rod with the use of quiver tips.

I have made an enquiry about this rod tho, asking them about the action of it.

But it is the best I have seen so far for the money. I am a 100% pure pleasure angler and I will never pay hundreds for a rod, just do not see the point of it.

When I get a reply I will let you what they say if you are intrested.
