Can any body advise a hook for fishing the severn using maggots?. Does any body know wat dave harrell uses? Cheers

Gaz,u want something like drennan carp feeder minimum,method feeder eyed r good tie it knotless knot style and snip the tag /hair off.For pellet i use the proper drennan barbel hook's about £3 i think,for 10 ,will not open up.

On my recent thread about hooks, I talked about trying the Fox Match Series 2 Extra Strong, I would imagine they would be good for barbel.

I'm also hearing very good things about the Pallatrax hooks, which now come in sizes down to a 16. Not seen them yet, but excellent reports from some anglers I really respect.

If I could get Dave to answer emails, I would ask him what he uses. I suspect he uses Kamasan Animals. Another quality hook.
Having watched the Guy Robb and Stuart Morgan DVDs, I do wonder about using a silver hook in clear water though.

if its spade ends your after, there is only one and they are drennan super spades, awesome whatever size......
