Unhappy Bad Back

Recently changed my box and now experiencing back ache when fishing, any of you know the correct way in setting up your box on the bank so as to over come my problem, somebody told me my knees should be at least 2" below the top of the box when sitting? but this did not work for me !!!!

Hi Korky,
I have always been told that your thighs should be parallel to the footplate. Seems to work for me.

Take a look at this picture.....

I bet nearly all of us, especially those who fish the pole sit like the picture on the left, and probably lean over even more than that!
As a rule though we should be sitting with backs straight (not arched) and knees parallel to the hips.
I suffer from a bad back and use pole rests to take the strain.
