Default G8

First to say sorry posted this earlier under wrong heading, have just got the Daiwa Connoiseur 16m G8, and every Wednesday and Saturday a few of us fish a match on a lake where Carp are caught up to 20lb, but i like to fish for the Silvers but you try telling the Carp that, what concerns me is what top 2 i use and if i use larger elastic will i bump off smaller fish, will be using the pole for the first time on Wednesday so any advise will be a great help.

Dont worry about the carp just use a soft elastic such as drennan green hollow or blue hydro or a soft latex in your match kits, had the green in my power kits during winter, You won't bump the silvers and the carp won't be too much trouble but may give you the runaround! I have took the no.1 section out of my match kits and fitted a maver no.5 internal bush which is a perfect fit and it has improved the performance of the match kits loads. Got grey hydro in now and it is great. You will enjoy the G8 it's a fabulous bit of kit. Tight lines.

I have 2 of them poles and every wednesday im at a lake that sounds similar

ok the best port oif call is this set your pole up with white hydro through a power top and a number 3 use a pulla bung dont over tighten the laccy, some of mine are as above with the number 1 thrown away, but I had already bought the power tops so I have to use them.

the white hydro is ok for 4 oz fish and above you wont bump too many if you get a carp you have half a chance I have had regular dounles on white hydro a few weeks back 2 over 14lb Im not saying the method is perfect but its a very good halfway house.

Incedentl;y dont worry about that pole and carp I have had a few over 20lb on mine and one of 23lb it handles them like a dream just make sure the top 3 or 4 joints are clean and free from any grit.
