Default Floating pole advice required.

I have a match coming up were it may be prudent to fish the floating pole, as the method is often a winner. I have on occassions used this method and have no probs with ethics of the method.
My top kits are cut well back to accomodate red & black hydro and find that the top kits fill with water and I end up fishing the sinking pole method instead. What set up are you guys using to prevent this happening?

Fit a rubber bead on your laccy behind the connector or crows foot this will help seal the bush.

Have you got solid pole aligners fitted. These cause an air lock and stop the water getting in.
