Hi Stefan,
I have used Daiwa Lagunas for a few years and found them to be very good. My only reservation is that they are beginning to strain from catching big weights of carp on the feeder and float.
Recently I bought a pair of Spro Red Arcs, they are superb, but will be a little more expensive than the Whiskers. I would suggest that the Red Arc is of similar quality to the TDR, so it may be money well spent to buy the Red Arc instead of the Whisker.

BTW, I picked up a pack of artificial maggots for your tench fishing, I'll get them in the post to you. Try using one on a size 16 hook with one or two real red maggots, it will help you to get more bites either float fishing, or legering.

Steve

Stefan, daiwa,s are the only reels that i use,i have now knowledge on the whisker match reel, but if it feels good in your hand, and feels good when you are turning the handle,(which i am sure it will do) then buy it, daiwa have a good name for repairs if anything should go wrong with it,let,s know what you decide on,and how you get on with it
