Try this alternative..take some pole float rubber ( I use 0.7mm ) and cut into tiny pieces ..Carefully super glue these pieces on to the end of your preferred pellet.
Make sure you dont block the hole in the float rubber. You then hook your pellet through the hole so it hangs like a maggot.

A round bend hook size 16 hook is best and the pole float rubber needs to be cut very small to allow the pellet to hang nicely, try to find non silicone rubber as this will stick better. The hook needs to go through the hole in the rubber not hooked into it.

The pellets need to be sinkers as they stick better and expanders aint got flat ends..I use dynamite swimstim natural in 6mm ..They actually look a bit smaller than 6mm... weigh about the same as a number 11 stotz weight.

Cut the small bits of rubber first, squirt a bit of superglue onto flat surface take the pellet dip the flat end in glue and just touch the bit of rubber and leave to dry. When dry make sure the holes are clear with a bit of thin wire.If your careful they will be clear.

Pellets done like this are excellent for shallow fishing or on the deck and dont come off easily even when you strike too hard...bit fiddly but well worth the effort.
