Default Bait Bands

I think that the price of some bait bands is a rip off. Have any forum members found a material to make their own?

Have you tried eBay, think I bought 1000 for £5 or something silly.

Try 6mm latex tubing. Available from engineering catalogues etc. We just got some at work for a quid a metre. Just cut it up.

Have heard varying reports of the Bait Bander. Some say it's not the strongest of designs, which got me thinking about a pair of pliers we used to use when I was serving my time. Basically it was the same idea as the Bander with the three fingers opening when the plier handles were compressed. We used to use them for expanding the insulation sleeving on electrical connections. Hope this makes senseto you, can't think for the life of me what they were called, and can't find them in any catalogue. It may be that the price would be prohibitive, but it was just an idea.
