Ryan put a preston original slip No5 (blue) in for your silvers, through a match top 2.

For the carp black hydro or a 12 latex (my preference)

There's loads of choice with elastic these days you'll just have to give them a try as everyone likes/recommends something different.

Ryan,i use vespe for silver fish, thats after years of using prestons,i find the vespe lasts longer and has more strecth, the number 5 /6 will br fine for big roach and skimmers

Try Drennan green hollow core for roach/skimmers and 2x grey hydro and 2x black. That should cover most options. Like the grey for shallow fishing as it is forgiving on the strike. Ignore the myth about hydro stretching into the distance. I am no crack but soon got to grips with it, all it takes is a bit of practise using it and you will land fish quicker and lose less which can be the difference between 1st and nowhere. Nowadays if you want to join the "fashion brigade" you had better opt for latex. It's very soft and stretches into the distance!

drennan bungee green 6/8 and yellow 10/12 cheaper than a lot of its rivals just as good i'm pretty sure that until neil machin got sponsored by garbolino he used this stuff exclusively. think hydro doesn't justify its price yes its good but so are lots of other makes too. i fish my laccy through no3 and no2 section with tip removed and on a pulla bung...works for me.

For your silvers you have to use Sensas slippery gold latex, there is no better. 0.07 and 0.08 will cover everything.

As for carps, black hydro for the big boys, smaller carp 0.10 to 0.14 garbolino latex chap.

I am now using #6 latex for my top 4, Diawa Grey Hydro for down the track work on the top 3's and Black for the far banks when I know Carp are about and a #18 solid for the margins in conjuntion with my margin pole and this is doing me fine,

The Hydro does stretch a bit but I find this quite helpful as I am able to fish much lighter gear then I do with solid elestic so when they are shy it gives an edge.

The only issue I have with the holo eleastic is the diameter, you have to cut back quite a bit on the top sections so I have also now bought a telescopic pole kit, this allows me to set it at the correct length for the latex rigs and the holo ones.

Best thing I did was to buy one and use if for 6 months to see how it goes, I still have two top 4's and 2 top 3's in the garage not set up but am waiting to see what I need them for before I rush into getting more set ups.
