Default Carp Buzzers

I cannot understand why some so called anglers use carp buzzers. They are very annoying and in my opinion totally unnecassary, used by the serious carp angler for their intended purpose - no problem, but in the hands of a numpty these things drive me mad, if I owned a fishery they would be banned.

IS IT ME?

couldnt agree with you more billy, like you i can understand how invaluable they must be when they are used as they were intended, but cant understand why somebody, sat behind their rod for a few hours, would need one,,something to do with concentration spans, maybe!

I think you see them most at commercials when a newish teenager is starting fishing for carp and are a bit mis-guided.
They want to catch a big carp (dont we all) and think rod-pods ,buzzers with bolt rigs and boilies will do it for them. But the larger carp can be caught using a conventional float and feeder approach just as easy. I dont think using them make them lazy they are just in need of some advice on how to approach a commercial properly.
Dont just sit on your box grumbling and tutting, but do spend a few minutes showing them how easy it is and letting them know (nicely) how disturbing it is for fellow anglers to listen to the constant bleeping.
Dont knock these young lads remember every one of us had to learn somewhere.

i own a set of three bite alarms but i only use them during the night when i go to sleep in my comfortable bed chair but it is annoying when used during the day and they are going off every half hour
