Red face Hook size please

Hi all Im new to the forum and would like some advice on how to fish the pellets and what size hooks to use with them. used 6 & 8mm pellets the other day and found I was missing alot of bites, I was using size 14 hooks are they to big for these pellets or should I step up a size. All help and advice is wecome.

Try using a pellet band with the pellets instead of hooking them

Cheers Jeff, Any type of band you would recommend for this or just your bog standard over the counter ones. Has i say i'm a novice to pellet fishing.

I use a Preston PR21 size 16 for the smaller fish & PR36 16 or 14 for the bigger fish
