most keepnets now usually do sink, nowadays if not then you could either weight the bottom ring or peg it out with a bank stick. but the best way is to fill your net with fish

I have a 6 inch stainless steel tube about 14mm in diameter filled with lead, drilled both ends and fixed onto end of my keepnets with a couple of cable ties. These are actually home made sea fishing weights that my mate made. My nets sink straight away!

I used an old padlock on the base loop, got no sharp edges & it stops anyone stealing your net while it's in the water................

If you want to sink your net quickly then put lots of holes in it !!!!
If not then wrap some lead (not from a church roof), a padlock like Ian.B (not from your shed) or the fish friendly way is not to use one at all.
