hi polepot sorry im only just replying but ive been busy. no i dont fish the newton canal but i go for walks there and it seems to be fishing very well. they still have open matches at the weekends with 10/20 lb winning.

Must be nearly 20yrs since I fished there, used to be there every wednesday and sunday, scartching for bits , those were the days
Mind you I'm still scratching, just for bigger fish

fished a couple of matches on top lake last winter with saracens ac.good matches but low weights even for winter. poor really silvers only no carp to count-water rules and £5 a peg now.thought at the time that cud have fished anywhere for 5/6 £ but depends what u want.
