Hiya Pete, welcome back to the match world, can't offer you a place in our club, you're a bit to far away, but good luck with the hunting of one.

Welcome to the site Shrek if you have not been to Drayton before you are going to be even more shocked, you are going to need to be able to fish the bagging waggler, or pellet waggler, or method feeder, the pole is an option but you will need red hydro elastics or similar employing at least 0.20 line and some big hooks and be prepared for it to possibly break the fish are big.
Best advice I can give you is dont put your rod or pole down as it can get pulled in.
for the bagging waggler have a read of this article by Steve Ringer
http://www.talkangling.co.uk/Bag&Wag.htm
For pellet waggler fishin have a look at this one
Fishing Articles: Pellet Waggler My Way
Another usefull read is on hair rigging
http://www.talkangling.co.uk/hairrig.htm.
Sorry I cant be specific about current baits but hopefully some of the above will help, there was DVD doing the rounds some 12 months back which was free on one of the angling papers featuring Steve Ringer that would give you an insight of what you will be tackling maybe some one has a copy you could borrow.

hi im dan, im sixteen and live in birmingham. i started fishing about two years ago now. my mate got me in to it and took me a couple of times to get me started. since then ive bought some gear and really just taught myself how to fish with the help of websites such as this. i havent fished a match yet however i would really like to. im not that great at fishing however im enjoying learning and trying out new venues at the moment. ive recently started fishing pool house farm quite abit which was recommended to me on this site. im really enjoying fishing there as its quite an easy venue to fish where a variety of tactics work. anyway hopefully when i get abit better i might meet up with some of you for a match.
