HELLO ALL
I m Steve , a 44yr young lorry driver, one kid 18 about to go off and find her way. All of a sudden i ll have the time & money to get back to fishing every hour i m not workin. I ve fished mostly club , i ve fished festivals in Eire & Sweden , won a few quid now & then. I now have a simple plan, av go at a couple of opens regularly (same venues) see if I can get a few quid back regular, then take it from there.

Default Hi all

Hi all
I am colin , i live in south birmingham . I fish for a club and have just started to fish a few opens, not had much sucess on the opens, just one 4th at trittiford.
I am a good commercial angler with my best weight over 200lb and i am not to bad on rivers which i fish in the winter.
Just had a go at the cornerstone open match on the grand union at small heath ansd was given a good battering . I have not fished a canal in nearly 20 yrs and it is such a different approach, i was lost
It as not put me off and i will be back, prepared next time.
I have a club match on the engine lake at ealrswood this weekend any advice would be welcome. I was thinking pellet wag or baggin wag combined with the method, any thoughts.

Yes i heard that thanx, but i am going to give the pellet wag a go, only fished this method once and caught quite well in the last hour, for a section win.
I will try both methods, but then the baggin wag is enticing, mmmmm.

I AM HAVIN A GO AT HUNNINGTON SATURDAYS , NO RESULTS AS YET. I dont expect to much as the regular anglers seem to have it sewn up. Im still only learning what im doing wrong. i think its not an easy venue by any means, the wind effects the fish alot , I hav nt had much out of the margins which most anglers are and I have been cathing a smaller stamp a not holding them,it ll come . IF anyone knows owt plz drop me a line

My names Dell i'm 38 from Stourbridge.
I'm a club angler but I do dabble in the open circuit but only on canals.
Very interested to know if any open matches are on anywhere on the 'cuts' around the West Mids.
Also interested in learning the art of commercial match fishing so would be interested in the odd knock up with 'TA' chaps.
Have fished with Rive T a few times ( i still owe you a quid from the last side bet)
See ya,
Dell
