The best there is in the south at least match wise they come from far and wide to fish here mate.

Yep but not very many really good Barbel rivers in essex if your after the big uns.
Whats it like on that river that runs through Harlow (I think its the Stort) is it any good? I've often wondered, as I want to get my father in law interested in fishing and he lives in Harlow. If I can get him into a couple of decent sized fish he may get hooked.
