Just a thought, but as well as a better deal maybe he wants a bit more of the spot light. There's a big shadow cast by the Daiwa no.1. & I would think the position is pretty safe after the World Champs. result this year. Is the Maver top name spot more achievable ???
The situation has already been compared to football transfers (without the big money), is it a case of playing for a lower divison but being the star man as opposed to playing for the top team but always being on the bench (so to speak) ????

Making a comment like that sounds like you're shooting yourself in the foot if you're after sponsership. It's a double whammy for a manufacturer & I'd be a bit wary of someone who could upset potential customers by inadvertently insulting them or just making think twice before buying the next 'super gadget'..... not a good business move.

I probably fall in that category a bit, all the gear & not a lot of idea (it's a funny quote really), but I'd stand less of a chance with none of the gear & still no idea !

How much do you think a spnsorship deal like that is worth to him over the course of a year?

Tackle aside , i don't think it will be a vast amount in hard cash and I'm sure it wont be enough to chuck work full stop , i just think it helps with days off etc

Probably Richie but its my opinion and I wasnt trying to speak for everyone with that comment, but then you only have to read the complaints about the poles to see its quite a common opinion.

Hey justin just think if he was sponsored by durex, would his keepnet have no holes? Would his waterproofs be pink and ribbed? Would his deal have a 5 year expiry date? Would people think him a bit of a dick? Would anyone be after his used gear?
