Default It's that time of year!

Ok winter is approaching fast now and I have joined a winter league. All the matches are at boldings, bridgnorth. I have fished here a few times and have had good days everytime I have been. My question is if target fish are for argument sake 3-4 lbs what sort of winter hooklength should I use? Is this trial and error or would 0.08 - 0.10 be strong enough to cope with winter fish of this size and could I go any lower than this? Also as this is my first winter that I will still fish every weekend are natural baits still top of the list or will the pellet still come up trumps? Any help, comments or anything else you feel I would need to know for winter sport would be greatly appreciated.

If you are fishing for a ream with a realistic chance then you will have to think about what the most consistant methods will be for good section points.

If the team cant win anything then i'd be thinking about how to win the match, at Boldings this could mean fishing corn with no feed once it gets cold.
