Gary,

There are many different ways of fishing shallow for carp, either with or without a float it's all a personal choice depending on fishery rules etc.

But for a basic shallow rig I use a KC Carpa Shallow float with a bait band tied in the hair to a Kamasan B911 shotted with 3 no8's 1/3 between hook and float fishing banded pellet on the hair and spraying feed pellet.

This rig has caught me plenty of carp and won me a few matches mate.

Any thick bristle dipper or pellet float will do, not too long and slightly under shotted to account for the weight of the pellet.

Give it a try.

Cool welsh are here

hay guys and girls
Welsh roach here, or mark i am from cardiff and love my coarse fishing. Been fishing about 5 years now and would love to help sort out a event day in wales. I think that wales is a very under rated for coarse fishing. I can say from experience that the fishing here is wicked and is a match for anywhere. If anyone is intreseted my e-mail is markhroberts1234@hotmail.co.uk or give me a ring on 07972613564. Nice one guys and girls

Tight lines

Mark
