Default winter aronud the corner & bait help

since fishing recently in good sunny warm conditions the fishing has been superbly hard..do you guys think winter fishing has to start with less feed and less high oil baits now as it is gettin very hard or wait till it gets really cold?

&

next question is i like fishing my bait and having the same sort of bait on the hook but allot bigger to attract fish quicker as they will pick the size out...for pellets i can use the paste made to be fished with the pellet or even a pellet twice the size, meat i can feed small cubes and fish big...can you think of anything to go with corn? maggots? or even hemp, the silver fish side of this tactic is allot harder

thanx

Check out my post on Ian B's bait boxes thread...

With corn, I would be inclined to feed only one or two grains after each fish. If you need the bait to stand out, try putting two grains on the hook. You could also try liquidising some corn for feeding with. Cup it in and fish a grain through the cloud.

Using corn should be a winner until the New Year, then swap to maggots.

Default winter

I think with the recent drop to cooler weather it certainly is time to swithch to winter tactics, meat should have fone and it is time for pellet and corn which i shall now fish until march/may. i may give bread a go and fish the bomb which i love doing.

Try corn over pellet only feeding a couple of grains at a time, usually for each fish and about 20 pellets. i will feed less when it gets really hard and expect to catch better later in the session. remember that even in winter fish will still patrol in the margins later in the day. Ian
