Default Shimano Exage pole - New to hollo - what length?

Hi,
Got the original shimano exage which I haven't used much due to a break in fishing which has lasted a couple of years.

Always used to use latex through the power tops but thought I'd try hollow in my 'comeback' to see if I like it. Just got out the power top 2 kits after 2 years and they are around 8 1/2 -9 feet in length and they have been cut back for a large drennan bush to fit internally.

I don't think its a good idea to put his length of hollow in the pole but the number 1 section of the powerkit is around 4ft in length and is too narrow a diameter to fit a suitable bung in I think.

Anyone else encounter this problem? - any solutions?

Thanks

I've exactly the same thoughts as you lopz, I'm told that I should use a pull bung but having limited use in my right hand that's a no go, also I've read about cutting the hollow in half & using a length of braid to make up to fit my 2nd section, that might give me more control, not found a suitable type of braid yet I'm hoping someone on hear has the answer.

Have heard about the dacron method but don't like/trust the sound of this idea - I wonder if there is another way?

Cant comment on the hollow Lopz, but I've also got the original exage and I've only lackied the top sections of the power tops in latex 12 & 14s .............4ft x stretch ratio of 6 = 24 ft (max), typically 15/20ft when tightened up a tad.

Cant say I've experienced any probs just lackying the top section only.......a small preston bung fits aok when cut back

cannot see any good reason for not using that much elastic just balance them properly to your tackle and target size fish
