you sure they are not spawning they go off the feed when they are spawning
Look at any water on a really hot day at the time when matches are normally fished (mid morn to mid PM) and you will see fish basking in the sun. Hot temperatures mean lower oxygen and slower metabolisms, so feeding would take too much energy!

personally i think the recent downpours have lowered the water temperature suddenly also for 2 weeks after spawning its always slow i think there recovering

i've found at this time of year to go fishing is about 4.30pm till it gets dark the fish start getting their heads down after the sun loses sum warmth,
