Default carp not feeding

fished two heavily stocked carp waters in the hot weather we ve just had and the fishing was
dire . Not just for me but for most.Just prior to that weather someone took a 250lb bag on
the pelllet wag.Whats made the fishing go so dire...

you sure they are not spawning they go off the feed when they are spawning

Look at any water on a really hot day at the time when matches are normally fished (mid morn to mid PM) and you will see fish basking in the sun. Hot temperatures mean lower oxygen and slower metabolisms, so feeding would take too much energy!

personally i think the recent downpours have lowered the water temperature suddenly also for 2 weeks after spawning its always slow i think there recovering

Not that old chestnut! How cold can rain be as it passes through air temperatures of over 20 degrees?

i've found at this time of year to go fishing is about 4.30pm till it gets dark the fish start getting their heads down after the sun loses sum warmth,
