    Thumbs up staying put.

    i caught some nice roach on thursday night,including a couple of big dog roach,but how,and more to the point,can i keep the fish in one place.i know about feed to your bites,but for a period of about 30 minutes,it was as if every fish in the water had just vanished.then bang! they were back.its such a head ache.and its costing me places and cash. any help will be greatly received.

    maybe a big fish has pushed em away and its takes those 30min to gain confidence again.
    Perhaps you could try feeding two lines an when the one dies head onto the other one which is primed an ready t go

    Id rest the line and cut back on the feed and fish another swim for 20min's.

    Could be a Predator, put a spoke in the works or simply the Roach backing off after a bit of a hammering??...

    You can only plunder a swim for so long...

    Could aslo be that the fish have 'moved-up' & are intercepting the bait, just below the surface??...

    That's the intriguing thing with roach , they just go out , up and just disappear . The great roach catchers like John Dean , Allerton etc were always moving shot and depth constantly , even when catching , to try and get perfect presentation if that's at all possible
