June the 6th it was more like November the 6th

. It was very wet early in the morning, but after a hearty breakfast the clouds dispersed and it had stopped raining. The wind was still quite strong at times with a chill factor to it. The pegs placed in the draw bag and some of the unfancied pegs were left out, the fishery peg markers had been moved around the lake so this was no reflection on last years results and peg numbers. The red hot favourite was Kevin Brown coming of the back of three wins in a row, the favoured pegs between the islands was were you needed to be, a small chuck with a tiny feeder if they were there and you could be in. Well this could not have been more correct with peg 23 on the inner island had the island gap to chuck to, first cast and the tip shot round this was to set the pattern for the day with the peg producing steadily, albeit small Carp with the odd larger one around the 3lb mark, small method feeder fished with a small tail and hair rigged corn was enough to keep the rest of the field at bay, strong winds made the pole very hard to present but 21 stallwarts battled the ellements to produce a fairly even contest in the end.
The results are as follows:
Dave Lilliman peg 23 35lb-8oz
Terry Wiggins peg 3 29lb-13oz
Dave Sewell peg 13 27lb-5oz
Wayne Jerram peg 18 27lb-3oz
