Default James Maude Linden Ac @ Makins Phase 1 Lake 2B

20th June 2009

Well the pre match banter (19th June) could not have been better, if the previous weeks weights were anything to go by, ton's all over the lake were caught. Ah but another day and we all know what can happen , yes that was the answer it just did not fish, the baliff told one of the lads that the fish had been spawning mid week so we put that down as our excuse . The Rivendale lads were on the opposite bank to us fishing 2A, so with all the pegs taken up it was going to be a titanic struggle and this proved to be just about correct. The wind was blowing up the lake from right to left and this proved to be an advantage to the lads that drew the higher numbers. A new winner was born this week by the name of Dave Sewell, Dave had a good weight of 60lb-3oz caught down the margin on meat, but it was not all easy going as bites were hard to come by.
The results are as follows:
Dave Sewell 60lb-3oz
Ian Carr 40lb
Sean Hanaran 32lb-12oz (guest) Trickytree T/A member
Richard Brown 31lb-7oz
Terry Wiggins 27lb-2oz
Dave Lilliman 27lb
Gary Butcher 26lb-9oz
Dean Collingham 24lb-11oz (well done Deanochang T/A member)
Kevin Brown 17lb-12oz
Kyle Wood 14lb-15oz
Billy Harrison 11lb-10oz
John Evans 11lb-1oz
Paul Skeldon 3lb-7oz
Lawrence Butcher 1lb-6oz
Ashley Skeldon 1lb-5oz
Pete Jackson 15oz
Terry Cheeseman 14oz
Shaun Green 11oz

So a tough match for all, a special mention to Dean Collingham well done Deanochang T/A member.

All Anglers must weigh in to gain league points.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Next Match Saturday 4th July @ Portland Waters (Canal)

cheers billy , thoroughly enjoyed the match but the shine was taken off by the fact that a lot of pegs all at the same end of the lake did'nt produce for some bloody good anglers that traveled a long way and deserved better . portland canal is our next match a venue which should restore faith and confidence in all those who had an awful day/draw . so with a reasonably local and more prolific venue not to mention a crackin breakfast the 4th of july should be quite a day of independence . lastly a special mention to shaun ( Trickytree T/A member ) hanrahan great result mate well done !

Well done Deano, great result and possibly only one fish of third place! Next time.

Excellent win for Dave (Nobby) Sewell with 7 carp in the last 2 hours. From where I was viewing the action Nobby seemed to spend much of the last 2 hours stood on his box trying to get his knicker elastic to work! Great win though.

Happy Fishing
Kev

Yes Kev, think Dave needs to go up a gauge think the lumps caught him out there mate, just goes to show that it's not all over till the Fat Lady sings and Nobby was singing all the way.
Kev you also had a great day on the Mag mate a good net of Silvers with the method not working down our end of the lake.
