Gerrards Cross & Uxbridge DAS Match Results
Farlows Match Lake, Iver, 21 6 09
23 fished
1/ Martin Harper 50-8-0, fourteen bream and two tench, mainly feeder and maggot but a few on pole & caster, peg 29
2/ Brian Eggleton 34-6-0, ten bream, feeder and pellet, 27A

4/ Will Noble, 31-4, peg 7

Looked at one point as though weights would be a lot better but the bream mostly switched off for the last hour and a half

GUC Slough Arm, Langley Boats,28 6 09, 19 fished
1/ Dave Aubrey 7-14-0, roach, hemp at 7 metres
2/ Will Noble 5-12-0
3/ Robbie Blackburn 5-8-0
4/ Lee Smith 4-14-8
5/ Brian Dart 4-9-0
Result second hand (I wasn't there) and might be a couple of oz out here and there, but looks like it fished consistently as usual. Surprisingly few bigger fish showing yet with most weights of roach, rudd and perch.
Next match in two weeks at club lake at Hythe End, Wraysbury, which produced a bream over 15 lb yesterday. Which might call for a change in tactics....

Nice to see your results as I used to live in Datchet and fished Farlows a fair bit.

Club Lake, Wraysbury, 12 7 09, 17 fished. A few regulars missing after the lake fished appallingly last season, but this was a bit better.
Two horse race in the end, as virtually everyone sat it out for big fish.
1/ Stuart Turk 43-8, six bream to 9-4, feeder and worm
2/ Don Wilkinson 43-2, three bream to 9-0 and a carp of 24-2, method and popped up corn
3/ Martin Harper 12-0, one bream, one tench , feeder and worm, and a few perch on the retrieve!
4/ Kevin Burroughs 9-2
5/ Brian Eggleton 8-15
Quite a few bits showing as well in places. Although there wasn't a lot of point targeting them this was certainly a good sign after last year when a pound and a quarter would you have got you in the frame in any of the four matches there, one of which was won with half an ounce!

July 19, R Thames, Child Beale, 19 fished.
Match was fished with Twyford Valley AS.
Glad I missed it...
Gerrards Cross result-
1/ Brian Dart 1-12-0, half a dozen perch , short pole and worm
2/ Derek Turton 0-5-0 one skimmer
3/ Dan Richardson 0-4-0, one skimmer
Thats it...
The Twyford boys did marginally better, Lee Roberts? (I think) winning with a lone bream for 3lb odd and Dave Wightman also breaking the 2 lb barrier, but still well over half blanked.
Something very wrong with the Thames at the moment- Child Beale isn't the best length by a long way, but that was a shocker....

July 26, Farlows Match Lake, 23 fished
1/ Richard Smith 89-9, all bream, feeder and pellet, 28
2/ Brian Eggleton 51-7, ditto , 27A, think he pays council tax on the peg !
3/ Dave Sephton 41-11, all bream, 8
4/ Will Noble 36-4, bream mainly on pole and pellet, 5
5/ Dickie Penn 28-0, peg 23
6/ Kevin Burroughs 25-0, peg 16
Weed a bit of a pain for some but still fished pretty well all round although as any lake regular will tell you, when 28 decides to fish its very hard to beat. Still got to catch them though and that's a cracking weight.
Might actually get to fish myself this weekend, Wraysbury again; its an inter club job so the lake's likely to be more or less full- not sure how it'll fish with virtually every peg in but only one way to find out....

Well, we found out ! (Even with the attendance lower than expected- about 33/34 is maximum leaving out the corners)
Aug 2, Club Lake, Wraysbury, 25 fished.
Rock hard for the majority with over half blanking- extreme water clarity didn't help with clear skies and sun a lot of the day, but should still have been better than this.
A few big fish here and there made things look marginally more respectable, and I certainly wasn't complaining...
1/ Martin Harper 45-15, seven bream, best 9-2, and a few perch, feeder, worm and caster.
2/ Jim Deacy 13-13, one tench (8-2) one bream, feeder and corn
3/ George Smith 7-2, one tench, pole and corn
4/ Ken Woolford, 4-6, one bream,
5/ Jim Berry 1-12, one eel
6/ Bob Hawes 1-10 of micro perch down the edge (he got bored waiting !)
All blanked on the fancied Island pegs, ditto either side of the culverts, and apart from myself , only John Barnes caught with a few perch on the whole of the shallow bank.
To be fair, this is much more of a big fish venue at present than a match water, but even so....

August 9,R Colne, Uxbridge (King of the Colne Round 1) 24 fished
1/ Cliff Fox 19-8, 5 good chub plus chublets , wag and mag, peg 11
2/ Dan Richardson 11-8, two chub plus roach, wag and mag, 59
3/ Richard Smith 10-6, all bits (Biggest fish a 4oz barbel !)55
4/ Bob Hurley 8-1, peg 47
5/ Bob Horwood 7-12, peg 37
6/ Roy Perry 6-6, peg 40.
River generally fished better than the tapwater clear and sunny conditions made us expect, with quite a few 5s and 4s as well, although one or two of the shallower pegs without tree cover really struggled after the first half hour.
Me? 4-15 mostly dace from 18" of water but not enough of them

Sept 6,R Colne, Uxbridge, King of the Colne round 2. 20 fished
1/ Kevin Burroughs 24-12, seven chub plus bits , wag and mag, peg 11
2/ Derek Turton 9-9, roach and dace, wag and mag, 53
3/ Graham Porteous 7-1, chublets and dace, 35
4/ Cliff Fox 6-6 all bits, 58
5/ Dave Sephton 5-10, chublets and dace, 56
6/ Roy Perry 5-8, all bits, 59
River gruesomely low and clear- it was normal level yesterday but dropped 6 inches overnight and a couple more during the day. Old favourite peg 11 still produced the goods though.Cliff Fox leads the series with 5 points followed by Derek Turton with 9 , Roy Perry and Bob Horwood both 12.
Me ? Peg 5 in the sluice- would have been OK to good yesterday but drop in level left the sluice stood still. Any Colne regular will tell you that having only 18 inches of water is not a problem, but 18 inches of non-moving water definitely is. Lost one of the pegs resident chub after three hours and then spent the last half hour watching 5 or 6 of them emerge from under the weed raft as the sun got off the water and polishing off every maggot apart from the one with the hook in....Given another hour might have had two or three but not enough time to get them making mistakes.Apart from the winner, the chub I lost was the only one hooked anywhere.
Ended up with 3 perch and a roach for 11oz
Special mention to Dave Sephton for winkling out what he did- if his peg had been any shallower he'd have had to superglue his hook to the bottom of the waggler....

One from last week...
Sept 20 GUC Slough Arm, Langley Boats
16 fished, slightly depleted turnout with some regulars on the Colin Ambrose memorial match on the Colne.
Langley Boats as consistent as ever, and Dave Aubrey certainly seems to have it sorted. The odd big skimmer showed, but virtually all the weights were roach and rudd with some perch.
1/ Dave Aubrey 11-3-0,all roach, mainly on hemp
2/ Will Noble 7-12-8
3/ Bob Hawes 6-5-0
4/ Bob Horwood 5-11-0
5/ Cliff Fox 5-10-8
6/ Derek Turton 4-9-0
