Default A windy Canal match 18th March

Fished on the Birmingham mainline canal at Wolverhampton

15 anglers turned up to fish on what could be honestly described as bloody horrendous conditions with gale force winds interrupted only by showers of hail and snow.

Young Adam Slade fished a good match to win his 1st ever canal match with 9-2-2 consisting of 2 bream and 6lb of roach on joker.

I drew a very windy stretch and caught 3 roach, a perch and a skimmer, in the first hour, then not a bite for the last four hours. I was too cold to wait for the weigh in. Well done to the guys that caught, the B & J really makes a difference.
Thanks to Lee for organising it.

I think the two pegs with the least amount of wind were 20 and 26, i think being able to present it something like was as important as the bait you were using.

If had been able to hold the pole i think caster would have been the bait.

Thanks for putting the match on Lee. Certainly wouldn't mind giving that stretch another go under more favourable conditions.
Although a manky day the 5 hours flew by.
And well done young Sladey for battering me off the next peg

I think 20, 26 or 27 would have been my choice before the draw, just think of the weights if the wheather would have been more freindly.
