Fished yesterday at Witherington Farm near Salisbury in Wiltshire.
Clayton Hudson fished a blinder to win both heats, beating Steve Gardener off the next peg both times!

First heat was on the Outer Snake, with two sections. Clayton won his with 99lbs, Ben Field (last year's winner) won his with 20lbs.
The afternoon heat was fished on the Inner Snake, with both section winners repeating the trick.

Worm across was top method, although Ben Field fished his paste over maggots method in the afternoon.

Interesting story:
In the morning, Steve G(od)(ardener) use whichever ending you feel is more appropriate, hooked a carp, which snagged him solid at the net. He pulled for a break and lost the entire rig.
Halfway through the afternoon match, he hooked a carp and played it to the net. As he lifted to get the net under it, the hook pulled, but got wrapped around the float on his rig from the morning.
It was still attached to the carp and even the worm was still on the hook and wriggling.
Who says they follow him everywhere?
