Default St Helens Aa Match Results 27,12,07. Match Record Smashed

A change in the weather today and conditions were not the best at all , with strong gusts of wind and the rain poured down all day , the turnout was the worst of the series with 13 anglers present and ready for a good days fishing, I can only assume the low turnout is probably to do with the xmas period and hopefully it will be business as usual next week.

So in the first hour ian Sullivan on peg 37 was straight into the fish and had a carp on almost the instant Dave Allsop had finished shouting all in and then proceeded to give a bagging demonstration and had another 13 within the hour up to the 4lb mark, Loyd Bamber on peg 9 caught 3 small carp , Danny Sixsmith on peg 39 had a small common around 3lb park and Ray Jones on peg 14 had 1 around 5lb, but for most it was a struggle to get bites from silverfish.
Next couple of hours and there was no change for sully in peg 37 with is float disappearing with every put in and a quality fish being the result, Mark Addy on peg 16 had foul hooked carp around 8lb ,Mike Elder on peg 19 had small carp around 3lb , Loyd Bamber had the golden orfe and Mark tyrer Had a few silvers, as did Ray jones ,
Last couple of hours Danny Sixsmith had 2 small carp , Mark Tyrer on 22 peg had a small carp ,Loyd Bamber , Marcus Nickson, Mark Addy and Dave Allsop also had a small carp each, and Ian Sullivan was still BAGGING UP! Every put in a carp or a big silverfish , absolutely none stop action and an amazing sight to see!
Not only was todays winning weight the best this year! but it was the best weight since records began and totally smashed the previous match record of 60lb 1oz by 38lb 8oz and Sully weighed in a staggering 99lb 9oz , just 7 oz off the astounding ton. A phenomenal display of angling prowess.
Well done Sully, GOOD ANGLING.
Well unfortunately today of all days my camera spat its dummy out and packed up before I could get some net shots of sully and his amazing haul,
So here’s the results .

1st peg 37 Ian Sullivan 99lb 9oz
2nd peg 16 Mark Addy 28lb 9oz
3rd peg 9 Loyde Bamber 21lb 4oz
4th peg 19 Mike Elder 6lb 9oz
5th peg 26 Dave Allsop 5lb
6th peg 22 Mark Tyrer 4lb 2oz
7th peg 24 Marcus Nickson 2lb 14oz

Peg 10 Ray Roughley dnw
Peg 14 Ray Jones dnw
Peg 29 Frank Nelson dnw
Peg 32 Ste Hammy dnw
Peg 35 Jimmy Woods dnw
Peg 39 Danny Sixsmith dnw

See you all next week lads

cheers for that, it has its moments and for anyone wishing to have a go permits are on sale now, and run from December to December and cost 20 pounds for senior members 5 pound junior/ woman/ and oaps, and there is several other waters on the card including a stretch of the ribble, wyre, and 2 stretches of the seven.
