The first of many open matches on the dudley No 1 canal at netherton was held on 19/01/2008
30 fished on this match the conditions were favorable with light winds and mild tempretures , the match was fished on permanent pegs 1 to 30 .
leading the way was john fowler ,shakespere old boy who managed a total weight of 12-13-0 of roach and perch caught on bloodworm and joker , 2nd onthe day with 12-12-0 was norman carpenter maver midlands his catch was also made up of roach and perch and 3rd on the day was another shakespere old boy mick atchard with a roach and perch haul of 12-11-0,
this was an etrmly close match with the top 3 seperated by only 3ozs top 10 are as follows
