Well it was a match that those who had pleasure fished and caught a lot of fish during the week were really looking forward to. However, cold easterly winds put paid to the big weights that were expected and the match became one of the hardest of the winter on M1. Aaron Coleman celebrated yesterday's birthday by winning the match £95 and the Golden Peg (worth £400) from peg 5. The rest of the 16 man field really struggled to catch a few fish. There is still one golden peg of £400 left to be fished for and we are half way towards the next one.

1st Aaron Coleman, Gipping Valley AC, fishing luncheon meat on a feeder then a straight lead from peg 5 caught an all carp catch of 29lb 0oz
2nd Pat Denny from Woodbridge fishing mainly paste on the long pole from peg 4 caught 19lb 6oz
3rd Alex Reynolds, Wickford Browning, caught 2 carp down the edge on peg 32 and 2 on the feeder for 16lb 12oz
4th Ray Darnell, Nisa Waveney, had one carp and 3 tench on the pole feeder 15lb 2oz
5th Richard Reynolds from Ipswich had 4 carp on the feeder 14lb 7oz
6th Peter Binks from Walton on Naze had 2 carp on the feeder and 3 small tench and a small carp on the long pole for 14lb 6oz
