There were 2 matches this last weekend in appalling weather conditions -
cold Nor Easterly gale force winds and torrential rain with the water
temperature dropping 1.7 degrees each day. When oh when will we get some
decent weather?
Sunday 25th May - M2. 19 anglers fished with 9 of them having to face all
that the elements could throw at them and 10 who had the wind of their
backs. Generally it was a fairly close match with a fair few 20lb+
weights and 3 of the top 4 had the wind off their backs which helped with
presentation.
1st Stephen (Skoopy) Scopes, Viscount Tackle, fished the pole and pellet
from peg 67 for 42lb 7oz
2nd Mike Whittaker from Norwich fished the feeder to the end bank from peg
58 to weigh 37lb 12oz
3rd Colin Provins, GVAC, peg 46 with 27lb 4oz
4th John Dale, Nisa Waveney, peg 65 with 26lb 2oz
Bank Holiday Monday - 26th May - M1
Again the greatest problem was the gale force winds and the rain that
started just at the draw and continued until just before the final
whistle. This hampered the fishing making presentation very difficult
especially for those people in the very high numbers and the low numbers.
1st Darren Clarke, Dynamite Baits, fishing the method feeder and also
having some of his larger fish on paste at 5 metres. Darren was on peg 31
and weighed 47lb 13oz
2nd Graham Howe, Viscount Tackle, fishing the feeder from peg 3 weighing
31lb 10oz
3rd Alex Reynolds, Browning Wickford, fishing dead maggots on the method
from peg 28 for 31lb 1oz
4th Steven Scopes, Viscount Tackle, fishing the feeder from peg 6 for 22lb
3oz
